August 10, 2026 marked the 10th anniversary of COSCO Shipping (Piraeus) Port S.A. fully taking over operations at Greece's Piraeus Port, the flagship maritime project of the Belt and Road Initiative and a landmark of China–Greece cooperation.

The transformation has also carried a green and cultural dimension. COSCO Shipping has deployed photovoltaic clean-energy equipment at the port, while the world's largest solar-powered plus LNG dual-fuel car carrier, the "Yuan Hai Kou", made its maiden call at Piraeus. The operator has likewise handed part of the port site to Greece's Ministry of Culture for an underwater archaeology museum, reinforcing deep people-to-people links between the two maritime civilisations.
