Namibia’s Export Processing Zone (EPZ) regime authorizes approved manufacturers to operate at 0% corporate income tax and 0% customs duty on imported capital goods, while the standard corporate tax rate remains 32%. These statutory benefits are granted to firms that manufacture exclusively for export markets. EPZ status allows foreign investors to import machinery duty-free and repatriate profits without additional withholding taxes, making the zone a natural staging point for goods entering Angola.

The 600 MW Baynes Hydroelectric Project on the shared Kunene River remains the single largest energy and water cooperation file between the two governments. Both Namibia’s Ministry of Mines and Energy and Angola’s Ministry of Energy and Water have designated the plant as a joint strategic priority, with tendering expected for civil works and electromechanical packages under bilateral guarantees. The project’s cross-border transmission lines will also open a secondary market for Namibian renewable developers to sell surplus power into Angola’s northern grid.
