The European Union will impose provisional anti-dumping duties on imports from Chinese producers of sodium benzoate, effective July 30, 2026, after an investigation found that low-priced imports had caused material injury to EU producers.

The investigation was sparked by a complaint from German chemicals group Lanxess, a major producer of the food preservative in Europe.
